Rendall & Rittner move into St George Wharf

Managing agents Rendall & Rittner have acquired unit 4 (13b) in St George Wharf and they moved Monday May 14. They have a team there who manage St George Wharf and a portfolio of other properties. Two of them: Paul Denton (on the right of the picture) and Sarah Torrance (left) look after St George Wharf. Duncan Rendall (centre), Chairman of Rendall & Rittner, is usually in the office two days a week. Feel free to pop in and raise any issues, if they cannot be resolved by the concierge. The office is just by Hudson's cleaners and is marked on the map.

 

Jubilee Pageant - crowds in St George Wharf

The great Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant takes place Sunday June 3. Some roads and bridges will be closed from 7am on the day. Areas near the river, including St George Wharf, are expected to get crowded and they will be closed to pedestrians before they get too crowded. After that no other people, except residents, will be allowed in. The organisers advise you to carry ID with your address, a utility bill for example. They say it is not essential, but may ease your passage in and out of restricted areas.

They also say that there will be specific information on the website at www.thamesdiamondjubileepageant.org about restricted areas and road and bridge closures. Your webmaster could not find any and will be watching out for more info. He's guessing about St George Wharf being restricted and that Vauxhall Bridge will be closed.

Boat service to Chelsea Flower Show

KPMG Thames Clippers are laying a special boat service to Chelsea Flower Show 22nd - 26th May. There will be a clipper going between St George Wharf Pier and the show pier every half an hour from about 8am to 8pm. Here's the special timetable.
 

SGWRA AGM Tuesday 12 June

The SGWRA will hold its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 12 June 2012 at 7:00pm. The meeting will be held in Commercial Unit 3, Drake House, St George Wharf (the former St George Sales Office). Please make a note of this in your diaries.

The SGWRA is the statutorily recognised and therefore official tenants’ association of SGW with over 500 members. All SGW residents are welcome to attend the SGWRA AGM irrespective of whether they are members.

Come and meet your neighbours, express your views, ask questions and find out what has been happening. An informal gathering will take place in Aqua after the AGM.

The agenda, an annual report and the accounts of the SGWRA will be emailed to all SGWRA members at the end of May.

SGW pier to close May 9, 9am-3pm

They are removing that scaffolding on the St George Wharf Pier Wednesday May 9 from 9am-3pm. So the boat can't come in and the pier will be closed. Expect improvements!

Boat Trip News

Thames Clipper Boat Trip - Thursday 24 May 2012 at 7:00pm – 9:00pm

Over 80 prople are now expected for the boat trip and professional guide Edward Foster has agreed to do a commentary. If you would like the opportunity to follow the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant route down to Greenwich then please complete and return the application form (click here to download *) and return it to the SGWRA letterbox at the Concierge Reception as soon as possible. Aqua will be offering their 20% discount that night and you can take your own fodd and drink on the boat.

Another Burglary at SGW

We regret to report that another apartment at SGW was burgled around noon on Wednesday 4 April 2012. Two youths (aged 14-16) gained access by tailgating a mother with an infant in a pushchair. They gained access to the apartment by breaking the apartment door. One laptop computer was stolen. Residents are reminded not to allow any strangers tailgate into the buildings.

Burglary at SGW

A burglary took place in SGW a fortnight ago. One apartment was burgled between 7:30am and 9:30am on a weekday. The burglar forced entry through the apartment door and stole various items. It was thought that the burglar might have tailgated another resident into the building. Residents are reminded to be cautious with strangers attempting to gain access into the buildings and not to allow tailgating. Strangers attempting to gain access to the buildings should be reported to the concierge.
